THE HISTORY OF THE TYPOGRAPHY
According to a group of Designers :
Typography is closed linked to the history and evolution of printing, with which it merges from the six century with its appearance in China, used by the Arabs in the tenth century, the contribution paper by Muslims in Valencia in the eleventh century in China and metal in the thirteenth century in Korea. From the use of these techniques in Europe with Gutenberg and his followers , the evolution continues slowly in the version in Latin Characters on technical improvements, but without fundamental change in principle. It is from the nineteenth century that evolution is rapid, with the development of newspaper and reading through public education that is becoming widespread .
The machines produce faster, hand composition give way to mechanical composition. At the end of twentieth century typography as printing technique has definitely lost its supremacy to offset, but Typography as Character drawing creation booming again thanks to Digital Technology.
Typesetters were workers necessarily literate ( which was not always the case in other professions), and they were often carriers and propagators of new ideas and even social movements. Typesetters were the pioneers of the north American Labor movement. The oldest still existing Quebec and Canadian union is the international union of typos. The first was the Canadian Labor MP typography Alphonse Telesphore Lepine.
Today ( 2015,...) Typography found a renewed interest by its English name of letterpress, which highlights the now popular traditional fault for their effect " vintage " : fulling, paper digging under the effect of pressure the embossed characters , now called debossing , may be accentuated by the use of very baggy papers and even be specially made with a special shot. The debossing implies that prints only the front of the paper , this techniques makes reserving to small prints and generally reduced dimensions. The letterpress is no longer using traditional characters in lead , which required the storage of a large number of breakages and the expertise of the typographer. The documents are made by computer and converted into Cliches in photo polymer relief. The machines used for printing are old printing presses, often platen presses , and printing often performed in CMY ( cyan, magenta, yellow) , although all independent colors are possible .

SKETCHES FOR PROJECT
Actually , my project is about public awareness on child labour in coltan mining in Congo. after discussing with the lecturer on how i'm going to combine both graphic design and illustrator, she give me some ideas to make a research first about typography in illustrator. After i made some research about typography, i realize how i can combine Graphic Design and Illustrator as a one piece of art.
Here are some sketches to show that:
Actually , after presentation of our proposal with all the lecturers from all the module, they decide that i should started my work already.
Basically i have to make a poster too about my project .
INFOGRAPHIC
An infographic ( information graphic) is a representation of information in a graphic format design to make the data easy understandable at a glance. People use infographics to quickly communicate a message, to simplify presentation of large amounts of data , to see data patterns and relationship, and to monitor changes in variables over time.
Infographics abound in almost any public environment--traffics signs , subways maps, tag clouds, musical scores and weather charts are just a few examples, among a huge numbers of possibilities.
In the enterprise, infographics are used by all levels of management of high level views of data. infographics include bar graphs, pie charts, histograms, line charts, tree diagrams, mind maps , Gantt charts, and the network diagrams. Such tools are often components of business intelligence software. As the amount of data being amassed in the enterprise and elsewhere increases, infographics are being used more and more frequently to help people understand contained in that data.
Infographics predate writing as a means of disseminating information--cave drawings are probably the earliest know examples. People were also creating and using maps before the advent of writing language.
The process of creating info graphics is sometimes referred to as data visualization.
Actually, this my sketch Infographic idea and process
